★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Part 2/2: Now, let's talk about my 3yo's experience. If I could sum up in one phrase, it'd be, "She and everyone in her class are just so darn adorable!" Don't get me wrong, she's gotten so much more flexible in just one semester without practicing at home like her sister, but the 3yo class is definitely more of an intro to dance class, where they incorporate lots of fun and movement into the 45 minute class. We're having her attend this class again as a 4yo next semester, because we're still trying to figure out if this is her passion. Coach Cindy teaches this class, and all the kids just adore how sweet, beautiful, and talented she is! There is another teacher that teaches ballet on Tuesday afternoons that my 3yo really adores. Check out the video- she's very attentive, kind, and nurturing.Let's address some of the pain points of Ballet Ballet. It's no secret that this is a new establishment, and the administration is still trying to figure out the best way to organize, communicate, and build a foundation for the best customer service. We don't know what we don't know, and I think only time will tell if the rather strict rules will lax over time. Makeup classes must be scheduled, and if a student misses too many classes in a semester, she will be held back from her peers- this is unfortunately the nature of how ballet works. If you're looking for less strenuous ballet learning, I still think Ballet Ballet is the place to be, but make sure you let Coach Dai and Coach Cindy know that from the beginning. Ballet Ballet has competitive and noncompetitive ballet classes, so if your child is more like my 3yo, there is still plenty to learn from Ballet Ballet at a slower pace. My 5yo truly loves ballet, which is why we're trying to see if she can retain this passion for ballet despite the rigorous curriculum. My girls have also been taking dance class at another dance place for the past 2 years. We just had an end of the year recital, and let me tell you something that reassured me signing up my girls for the Spring semester at Ballet Ballet was the right choice. Having ballet training made them stand out on stage. Their posture, rhythm, and grace on stage were so noticeably different from the other girls on stage. I know, I'm pretty biased at this point, but I am trying to give as much of an objective view as possible as this tiger mom does have former music training in violin, ballet, and piano growing up! Ballet Ballet exceeds my expectations for my girls. In terms of my expectations for how their customer service focus could be, it is right on point- it still needs a bit of experience and time to improve. For now, make sure you arrive more than 5 minutes prior to the start of class, notify Coach Cindy of planned absences in order to make up classes, and be receptive to their changes. Go sign up today- you might find immersion in the world of ballet has a new meaning!
December 11 · Sophia HendraPart 1/2: I've been waiting to write this review since the day my two girls joined Ballet Ballet in July 2022 under the instructions of Coach Dai and Coach Cindy. Though Mr. Jiyan Dai needs no introduction, I think it'd be a shame if I didn't recognize him for all of his hard work and accomplishments in life- what are the chances that my daughters could learn from the former Principal Dancer of Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) of a decade? There is a nice YouTube video that sums up Coach Dai's time with TBT as well as showing how he came to be prior to becoming the founder and impeccable teacher at Ballet Ballet (he has a pretty funny quirky personality as you get to know him, too). "Time with TBT: Jiyan Dai" on YouTube is a must watch as it'll show Coach Dai's autobiography from 2020.Rewinding to 2021, I had noticed the Ballet Ballet sign go up in my neighborhood. Having two girls, I had been looking for extracurricular activities that were closer to home that could hold their interest. I wrote Ballet Ballet a message on Google maps in early January 2022. Sadly, it took me way too long to realize Coach Dai and Coach Cindy had actually responded to my inquiry right away, but it was me that failed to realize how to check this inquiry response on Google Maps (the Google Maps notification feature needs better reminders for sure lol). By the time I had made a reconnection with Ballet Ballet, the Spring semester had past, and the Summer semester was nearing its end. Luckily there were two spots left for my girls to try out ballet for a month prior to deciding whether to enroll for the Fall semester. The prices are very reasonable, and their tuitions were prorated based on how many classes were left. My 5yo fell in love after the first class, and she's been with Ballet Ballet ever since. This semester, we had the privilege of Coach Dai teaching both her stretch and dance classes- if you want your child to be pushed and truly learn the artistry of ballet, Ballet Ballet is definitely the right place. In a blink of an eye, an entire semester has gone by, and holy moly, my 5yo is a changed child. She is more confident, is physically and mentally stronger, is an improved dancer, has better posture, is more flexible, and I could go on and on. Disclaimer: this did not come with a snap of the fingers; it took diligent practice every other day at home on top of twice a week ballet classes. Coach Dai's instructions are not for show, because he really wants every one of his students to teach their true potential and also in hopes to instill the love of ballet into their hearts. The adults are not allowed to watch or film the class, but we were presented with an open participation class today where the parents got to watch what the girls have been learning all semester, and the changes and improvements were just astounding. I am SO impressed and grateful for how hard Coach Dai pushed the group of 5 & 6 yo's this semester. There is no bigger perfectionist than Coach Dai himself, yet he is able to make the kids laugh while teaching them every little detail there is to offer of ballet to ballet. His patience, diligence, and vigilance in understanding each student's strengths and weaknesses are remarkable. How did my girls get so lucky in finding such a pristine bellet class outside my neighborhood still behoves me to this day. This semester included two 1-hour classes, and next semester, their class will increase their dance classes to one 1.5hr class and one 2hr class per week.
December 11 · Sophia ChangWe were so happy to find this place this year! The place is very clean and pretty. The teachers are experienced and patient. They have a system of teaching and start from the basics of ballet, other than the free style in many other places. My girls have made a lot of progress just within a few months. They look so elegant and confident dancing ballet!
April 24 · Ting XiaoSo in love with this ballet school, brand new facility, super nice teacher and staff. I feel so right sending my 4 year old daughter here even just for the prettiest new classroom and she love her ballet class very much.
April 27 · Wenjing ZhaoMy daughter has been a student at Ballet Ballet since the beginning of the studio last year, and her experience has been completely exceptional.Under the guidance of the incredibly talented and dedicated teacher Mr. Dai, my daughter has made great progress both technically and artistically. Not only have her technical skills improved significantly, but she has also developed a genuine love and appreciation for the art of ballet. Also the teachers in the studio are always approachable, ready to address any concerns or questions parents may have. Their always care for the students' well-being and progress is evident in every interaction.I am so grateful and thanks to the outstanding training my daughter has received at this studio. I would highly recommend the studio for aspiring dancers without any hesitation.
