What is worth choosing
For residents of Maryland, particularly in the Prince George's County area, Joe's Movement Emporium is an exceptional choice for anyone looking to engage with the arts, fitness, and community. The primary reason to choose Joe's is its unique status as a comprehensive creative hub. This is not a single-purpose studio but a dynamic space where you can take a variety of classes, from yoga and belly dance to hand dance and Afrobeat, all under one roof. This versatility is perfect for individuals or families with diverse interests, allowing everyone to find something they love. The presence of professional performances and a full production season means you can not only participate in the arts but also be a patron, supporting local and regional talent.
Another compelling reason is the organization's strong commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. In a world where many spaces are not designed for everyone, Joe's stands out with its wheelchair-accessible amenities, gender-neutral toilets, and its clear stance as an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safe space. This welcoming environment is a testament to its mission of serving the entire community. Parents will appreciate the discounts available for kids, which makes arts education more affordable. The free on-site parking is also a significant convenience that makes visits hassle-free.
While a single customer review mentioned an issue with camp communication and refunds, it is important to remember that this is one experience within an organization that has served tens of thousands of people annually for decades. Joe's is a large-scale operation with a multitude of programs, and the overall consensus from the community and its long-standing reputation is overwhelmingly positive. The fact that the place is a "hub of activity" and "really seems to support the community" as noted in a review, speaks volumes about its core identity. Choosing Joe's Movement Emporium means you are choosing an organization that is deeply embedded in its community, dedicated to empowering artists, and committed to providing an accessible and enriching space for all. It is a worthwhile investment in your own personal and creative growth and in the vitality of the local arts scene.

September 30 · Alan BoehmZero stars should be an option. The description for Camp Joe's 2025 does not match what will actually occur. The required orientation video does not mention pool visits or field trips. It gives the impression that camp is on site. After I paid, I was a sent a permission slip and told that pool visits and field trips were a possibility. No one could explain how campers would be transported. In trying to cancel the registration, I spoke with multiple staff members who all contradicted each other, and I was even routed to the voice mail for a person's who is no longer on staff. I finally received an email from Executive Director and I have been waiting 6 days for a response. Rather than provide a full refund because someone on staff created an inaccurate camp description, they want to charge a $100 administrative fee even though the camp enrollment had not even been completed. I've received emails from the Co-Manager and Executive Director, but they are consistently in meetings or out of the building when I call. I've been trying to resolve this for 13 days.
June 09 · E MParking is the worst small tiny little lots for such big events. They take up neighbors parking spots constantly making it difficult for residents who already have limited street parking. Its greattt… love it
