★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This studio and owner saved my life. Growing up dancing there felt like home and they were my family. Dance Expressions is full of quality instructors and people. I highly recommend this dance studio to anyone who wants to dance, try to dance, or if you need a place to be yourself. I am forever grateful to Sheryl and Shannon for welcoming me when I was young and unsure about where I fit in. I love you ladies 🤍
April 10 · pinkcameraGreat studio, amazing teachers! My daughter has thrived at this studio, because of the teachers and the wonderful atmosphere that they have created kind, caring, inclusive and non judgmental environment. Where you can make mistakes and they are right by your side boosting your confidence back up. It has been a wonderful experience for my daughter.
April 10 · Leticia ScolaMy daughter has been dancing here for years. It’s not just a dance studio, it’s a family. The owners, teachers, students and parents are all amazing people that are welcoming to all. We take care of each other and each other’s children. It’s unfortunate that people are confusing this studio with another Dance Expressions from a completely different state.
April 10 · Deanna TomaMy daughter is going on her 7th year at Dance Expressions, 1st year on the competition team. This studio has been nothing but amazing for my daughter, her confidence level is booming and we have the teachers to thank, listening to her needs, her comfort, and most of all her feelings. My daughter has grown so much this year and the studio/teachers/students/parents all have a huge impact in that.
April 10 · Aimee AltierI rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel like this needs to be shared. I started dancing at this studio when I was 5 years old. It was a huge part of my life growing up. But everything changed after I was hit by a car at age of 11. Coming back from that experience was incredibly hard — physically, mentally, and emotionally. I hoped dance would be a place of healing, but instead, I was bullied by other dancers.Unfortunately, what I experienced here was far from supportive. I was bullied consistently during my time at the studio, and the worst part is that the staff were fully aware of it and did nothing. Some of the same individuals who bullied me are now teaching at the studio, which says a lot about the environment and what kind of behavior is allowed — or even rewarded. That was just from other students alone. When I was hit by a car and suffered major injuries, including a broken femur and broken bones in my ankle. Coming back to dance was incredibly difficult, but I pushed myself to return, hoping for support. Instead, during one of my first classes back, while struggling to move my leg properly, a teacher looked at me and said, “Can you even count?.” The students who had been bullying me laughed, right in front of the teacher. That moment crushed me. Their comment not only humiliated me, but it made those students feel like their behavior was acceptable. It completely enabled their bullying. In fact, it happened mostly in that class. That wasn’t the only time I felt unsupported. Throughout my recovery and even years later, I would tell teachers I was in pain and needed to sit down. Instead of respecting that, they’d pressure me to keep dancing — like needing rest made me a problem. It got to the point where I stopped showing up to class altogether, because it felt better to be absent than to dance through the pain.It got to the point where my love for dance vanished. I remember thinking dance isn’t worth this much pain. It got to the point where I left the dance studio all together. If I would have never left this studio, I would have never learned how to listen to my body. This studio failed to be a safe place. The bullying was constant, the teachers knew about it, and nothing was done. It happened for YEARS. I was also not the only person getting bullied by these individuals…..I decided to go back to dance years later. I felt like I was old enough to go back to dance and truly enjoy it. I wouldn’t be able to be pressured by my peers anymore because I have grown into a woman that knows her boundaries. I will allow myself to grow and get stronger everyday but I will never allow myself to be in that much pain again. They actually did try to pressure me again and it didn’t work.I won’t get too much in detail about other dancers there today and the way I was treated by them because they are just kids but I will say seeing them cry during recital when they should be enjoying their time really crushed me. I saw how much stress they were going through even though I barely knew them. I won’t speak for them but I do feel for them.Even now, years later, I’ve witnessed behavior from some teachers that made me uncomfortable — especially the way they sometimes talk about their own students when they’re not around. I won’t go into detail because I don’t want to hurt people, but it was enough to confirm that the environment hasn’t changed. That kind of behind-the-scenes negativity can be just as damaging as what happens in the classroom.Dance studios should be safe spaces, especially for young people looking for joy, healing, or a creative outlet. This one failed me in that completely. I hope others have a better experience, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a supportive and caring environment.
