January 29 · Sabrina HudsonI took my first dance class with Keur Khaleyi last night, and all I can say is WOW. It was the most fun I've had on a Tuesday night in a while. I appreciated seeing people of all ages and experience levels in this class, as I was coming in with little experience with African dance. I was already having a great time, and then the drummers came in. The opportunity to dance with live musicians really kicked this to the next level for me.The community in the room left the biggest impression, though. It was palpable - Jihan has cultivated a culture of mutual support here. Throughout the night, I saw and experienced dancers lifting each other up, helping each other out and keeping the energy high for one another. In short - I will be going back and recommend it to anyone who is curious!
